Patrick El-Hag The Bottom LineAftonbladet (pulsen)I don't know what this is all about - here is a guy who has obvious difficulties singing (he sounds like a macabre mixture of Rikard Wolff, Pet Shop Boys and Thomas Di Leva). The music is more or less monotonous and computerized with refreshing live details. Here is a guy who, with what he wants to say, or what he doesn't want to say (he is very blase and disillusioned), captures one directly. It's difficult to put your finger exactly on what it is, but Patrick's music touches me in a way that certain novels do, I don't want to carry on reading, I don't always understand what I am reading and I don't feel any sympathy for the ones I am reading about, but I can't put the book down. I am hooked from the very first line and first tone. Music to end your life to? Annika Sundbaum-Melin |
